Jazmine Nicole, first created Anaka Honey in 2011 when she decided to forego chemicals in her own hair and did the “big chop”. Jazmine experimented with different natural oils and shampoos and began transcribing what worked and what didn’t work as she embarked on her journey to natural and healthy haircare. After discovering recipes to maintain her haircare needs, motherhood took her product development skills to another level. Committed to providing chemical-free products for her daughters, who both have different haircare needs, more products were spawned.
With Jazmine and her daughters serving as ambassadors for the brand, she started selling products to family and friends; sales begin to grow due to word of mouth alone. Never imagining that Anaka Honey would grow into something larger; a winning lottery ticket and a simple prayer to God motivated Jazmine to take her craft more seriously as a business. Today, with more than 10 products in the Anaka Honey portfolio, what was originally created as a self-care product has become a brand that is being shipped across the globe!
